Man Runs Into Traffic Pole, Gets DUI: Police

Another man seen swerving in the road gets nabbed for a warrant.

The following information is from the Lake Forest Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

DRIVING WHILE LICENSE SUSPENDED

Caprisha D. Harris, 29, North Chicago was stopped at IL Route 41 and Deerpath at 1:30 p.m. on March 24 and cited for driving while suspended. Harris was stopped by an officer and taken into custody when her driver’s license was found to be suspended.

DRIVING WHILE LICENSE SUSPENDED

Disirow P. Ohlson, 23, Beach Park was stopped at IL Route 60 and Conway Farms Road at 7:02 a.m. on March 23 and cited for driving while license suspended. Officers responded to a minor traffic crash and took Ohlson, one of the involved drivers, into custody when he was found to be driving on a suspended driver’s license. He was processed and released on bond with an April court date.

LEAVING THE SCENE OF AN ACCIDENT / DUI

Perez L. Morales, 41, Waukegan was stopped at Waukegan and Westleigh roads at 10:53 p.m. on March 21 and cited for driving under the influence of alcohol and leaving the scene of an accident. Police responded to cell phone complaint of a possibly impaired driver who struck a traffic sign and left the area. An officer located and stopped the car, driven by Morales. Morales failed field sobriety testing and was taken into custody. He later produced a breath sample indicating a blood alcohol content of 0.167.

DRIVING WHILE LICENSE SUSPENDED

Alfonzo Lewis, 38, Milwaukee, Wisc. was stopped at IL Route 41 and Old Em at 11:29 a.m. on March 20 and cited for driving while license suspended. Officers responded to a cell phone complaint about a possibly impaired driver on Route 41. Lewis was stopped and taken into custody when he was found to be driving on a suspended driver’s license.

WARRANT ARREST/DRIVING WHILE REVOKED/DUI

Ernesto Huizar, 50, Highland Park was stopped at IL Route 41 and Westleigh Road at 9:10 p.m. and cited for driving under the influence of alcohol, driving while revoked and a warrant. An officer stopped Huizar after observing him swerve over lane markings on Route 41 several times. Open alcohol was found in the car and Huizar admitted to drinking. Huizar’s driver’s license was revoked from a previous DUI arrest, he was wanted on a warrant for failing to appear in court for that arrest as well. Huizar was incapable of standing long enough to complete field sobriety testing and was taken into custody.
