Man Showed Pistol During Traffic Encounter: Cops

Underage drinking party on Fourth of July busted at Forest Park Boat Ramp.

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT

Mauricio Reyes-Ortiz, 29, Waukegan was charged with aggravated assault at 8:31 a.m. on July 13 at IL Route 41 and Old Elm Road. On the morning of July 2, officers responded to a complaint of a motorist brandishing a pistol during a traffic altercation on Route 41. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle on 7/2/15 but obtained descriptions of the car, driver and firearm from witnesses. Reyes‐Ortiz was identified by a witness as the offender. Officers located Reyes‐Ortiz driving the vehicle again on the morning of July 13 and stopped him and located a replica BB pistol in his car.

CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOL BY MINORS

A 19-year-old woman and three male and female juveniles from Lake Forest were charged with consumption of alcohol by a minor at 4:38 p.m. on July 4 at the Forest Park Boat Ramp. Police responded to Forest Park for a report of an intoxicated juvenile there. They located the woman and two juveniles, all of whom were cited for consumption of alcohol by a minor. A third juvenile who had been operating the boat where the drinking occurred was cited for a social hosting violation.
