Nardo's Has Liquor License Revoked
Owner plans to appeal decision not to allow liquor sales at site of Christmas Day shooting.

LAKE BLUFF, IL - The liquor license for Nardo’s BBQ and Grill, the site of an early Christmas morning shooting that wounded three people, has been revoked.
The Lake County Liquor Commission officially revoked the license at a meeting on Monday, according to the Daily North Shore. The restaurant portion of the establishment will remain open.
Nardo’s owner Rita Usher plans to appeal the decision to the Illinois Liquor Control Commission and claims the process behind revoking the license was unfair.

But Aaron Lawlor, Lake County Board chairman, says the seriousness of the situation - which may have involved a North Chicago street gang - warranted the action.

“This is very serious to have a shooting at one of our county’s bars,” he said. “While it is rare to revoke a license for a first offense the severity of the situation warranted revocation of the license.”
