North Shore Chapter, NSDAR, to honor Corinne Wood with DAR Women in American History Award

North Shore Chapter, NSDAR, Lake Forest, is set to host their annual Ways and Means luncheon on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at Exmoor Country Club, 700 Vine Avenue, Highland Park. The luncheon will feature a dramatic presentation by Leslie Goddard who brings history to life with her mise-en-scène historical portrayals. Goddard will portray Alice Paul, who was the most dynamic leader in the fight to win votes for American women.

The suffragists would be pleased to know the DAR chapter members will honor Lake County resident Corinne Wood at the luncheon with the DAR Women in American History Award. Wood served as Illinois’ first woman Lt. Governor and advanced the causes of health care, the rights of women, childcare, economic development, rural affairs, seniors and the environment.

Willard Helander, chapter regent, added "Our benefit chair, Stephanie Garrity, and her committee have a delightful afternoon planned, and we look forward to welcoming many friends to salute Corinne Wood and support DAR programs and activities in many local communities."
