North Shore Obituary: Thomas Michael Condon, Jr., 79

Thomas Michael Condon, Jr., 79, of Lake Forest, IL, formerly of Northbrook, passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2015. He was born on February 28, 1936 in St. Louis, MO to Thomas Michael Condon, Sr. and Catherine Burnett Condon. Tom grew up in St. Louis, MO. He graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1954. After high school he joined the Marines and served for 2 years and achieved the rank of corporal. He attended South East Missouri State on the G.I. bill and later obtained an MBA degree. Tom had a career in advertising (Reader’s Digest, U.S. News and World Report and Town and Country) before starting his own sales consultant firm, Condon and Associates. He finished up his career as a financial planner. Tom married Marilyn Trapp Condon in 1959 in St. Louis, MO. They were happily married for 55 years. He was a loving father to Thomas M (Khristine) Condon V of Lake Forest, IL and Christine (Tim) O’Connor of Berkeley Heights, NJ; cherished brother to J. William (Beth) Condon of Thousand Oaks, CA and Kathleen (Dr. Charles) Colozzi of Merchantville, NJ; adored grandfather to Kerry (Darnell) Phillips, Brendan O’Connor, Garrett O’Connor, Katie Condon, Tom Condon VI and Kyle Condon; and dear great-grandfather to Ryan Phillips. Tom was a member of Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity and St. Patrick Church in Lake Forest, IL. He passionately played competitive paddle and tennis at Tennaqua, Deerfield, IL until his diagnosis of AML on April 30, 2015. Tom was a visionary with a great love of family. His kind, supportive nature allowed him to sustain a large network of childhood relationships and was sought by many for support. He was a fastidious dresser and competitive athlete. His caring smile, and firm handshake will be greatly missed. A visitation will be held at St. Patrick Church, 950 West Everett Rd, Lake Forest, IL on Monday, June 22, 2015 from 9:30 am until time of funeral mass at 11:00 am. Interment private.
