Obituary: Amedeo “Bud” Cappola, 75

A funeral mass has been scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 18 at 10 a.m. at the Church of St. Mary in Lake Forest.

Bud Cappola, 75, of Lake Forest, IL died October 9 after a three-year battle with cancer. He leaves behind a loving family and many wonderful friends.

Bud grew up in Buffalo, NY and made the Chicago area his home for more than 30 years. If Bud wasn’t training to run a marathon or planning a hunting trip, you could find him sipping a fine bourbon with a good cigar.

He was a man of principle and integrity. His strong Catholic faith was very important to him which was manifested in his honesty and strong moral character. Mentoring young people in the financial business was one of Bud’s passions. Although too numerous to count, he mentored many and always stressed the importance of wearing a pressed shirt and tie with freshly shined shoes.
