Obituary: Jeanne Michel Dolan, 71

Jeanne Michel Dolan, a compassionate nurse, “Super Mom”, and loyal friend, died peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, June 9, 2018. Originally from New York, New York, Jeanne became a registered nurse, graduating from Mt. Vernon Nursing School in 1968. As a nurse she cared for patients from hospital to nursing home settings. She met the love of her life, Vincent Dolan, whom she married in 1969.

They started a family, moved to Sloatsburg, New York, and later settled down in Lake Forest, Illinois. A devoted wife and mother, Jeanne volunteered her time at her daughters’ schools and activities, and at St. Patricks Church in Lake Forest.

Despite receiving a devastating diagnosis of primary progressive multiple sclerosis in 1995, Jeanne lived her life with contagious grace and positivity.

Jeanne is survived by her loving husband Vincent, three daughters Kristen (Eric) Redd, Allison (Robert) Windon, and Courtney Hoffman; grandchildren Caitlyn, Donovan Quillane, Clayton, Maggie and Luke, and ; sisters Donna McEntee and Arlene Rich,and brothers Robert, Kenny, and Darren Michel. She joins her beloved parents Rosemary and Robert Michel in heaven.

A visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, June 12 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Wenban Funeral Home, with funeral services on Wednesday, June 13, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, both in Lake Forest. A private internment will follow.
