Obituary: Michael Shea, 63

Michael Edward Shea, 63, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, September 9, 2017 after two weeks of battling an acute infection. He was born on December 15, 1953 to Edward and Evelyn Shea in Bangor, Maine.

Michael is survived by his wife Carrie, his daughter Meghan, his two sons Matthew and McKinley, his mother Evelyn, his brother Patrick and his sister Kristine. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward.

Michael received his PhD in Nuclear Geochemistry from the University of Chicago. He enjoyed music, wine, fly fishing, riding his Harley Davidson, and spending time with his family and friends. He was loved dearly by all who met him.

Memorial service will be held on Friday, September 15 at 10 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 700 North Sheridan Road, Lake Forest, Illinois 60045. A post-service gathering will be held at the Onwentsia Club, 300 North Green Bay Road, Lake Forest, IL 60045.
