Obituary: T. Michael Henderson Jr., 51
Services for the Lake Forest-raised dad and Cubs fan will be held Monday in Fishers, Indiana.

T. Michael Henderson Jr., passed away of natural causes on Monday, Nov. 13, 2017 at his home on Bainbridge Island, Washington at the age of 51.
Henderson was born March 11, 1966 in Urbana and grew up in Lake Forest. He attended the Hill School in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, and later Drew University, in Madison, New Jersey, where he majored in political science. After graduating college, he worked in politics and later financial services and retail.
Growing up, he loved rooting for his hometown teams: Bears, Bulls, and especially Cubs. His passion for his sports teams continued throughout his life – a pinnacle being his Cubbies finally winning the World Series. He also enjoyed fishing, reading, being outdoors, gardening, scuba diving and travelling to new places and meeting new people.

Just this past spring, Henderson had taken a dream vacation to St. Maarten.
Henderson and his wife Kara Henderson née Hoskins met in Chicago 18 years ago before marrying at Landmark Vinyards in Sonoma County, California.

During their 11-year marriage, they shared treasured memories and lived in many wonderful communities: Bexley, Ohio; Bainbridge Island, Washington; Barrington, Illinois and most recently Fishers, Indiana.
Bainbridge Island was a special place where their beloved daughter, Skyler Nicole Henderson, was born. He liked spending time with his family including their yellow lab dogs, Beckett and Hunter.
In addition to his wife and 8-year old daughter, Henderson is survived by his mother, Nancy Bene, of Duxbury, MA; his father, T. Michael Henderson of Las Cruces, NM; his sisters Eleanor Bene of Seattle, WA, and Margaret Pierce (Rob) of Duxbury, MA; and two nephews (Brewster & Willie).
Funeral mass will be held on Monday, Dec. 4 at 11 a.m. at Saint Louis de Montfort Parish, 11421 Hague Rd. in Fishers, Indiana. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. the same day.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations in Michael’s honor be directed to benefit his daughter or to the United Way of Central Indiana.
