Lake Forest College offers community members the opportunity to learn to write poetry and prose during its fall Writing By The Lake workshop with Professor of English Benjamin Goluboff.

Successful writing is often the result of deadlines and a structured routine. This small-group writing seminar will supply both through weekly meetings with an experienced instructor and a supportive cohort of fellow writers.

Prose & Poetry: The Fall Workshop welcomes writers of fiction, creative nonfiction, and poetry. If you have a memoir, a novel, or a portfolio of verse on the back burner, bring it to the Writing By The Lake workshop, and bring it to completion.

The workshop will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on October 6, 13, 20, and 27 in the comfortable setting of Glen Rowan on the Lake Forest College campus. The course includes an end-of-term writing project evaluation and an individual “Next Steps” conference with Professor Goluboff, who teaches in Lake Forest College’s English and environmental studies departments. In addition to a number of scholarly publications about American Literature, Goluboff has placed imaginative writing—stories, poems, and essays—in many small-press journals over the years.
