Pet Adoption Event Planned for Market Square

PAWS Chicago will bring 'Angels with Tails' promotion to North Shore by showcasing adoptable puppies at Market Square.

PAWS Chicago, the city’s largest no-kill humane organization, will bring the faces of Chicago’s homeless animals to the storefronts and sidewalks along Market Square in Lake Forest.

Angels with Tails Lake Forest, presented by Merrick Pet Care, is “an opportunity to stroll the sidewalks and press your nose against storefront windows to experience the joy a pet can bring to your life,” according to PAWS Chicago.

From noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 12, PAWS Chicago will showcase adoptable puppies and dogs on the green of Market Square, while select merchants will host kittens and cats inside their boutiques for adoption.

While this is the first time Angels with Tails has been held in Lake Forest, PAWS Chicago launched its inaugural Angels with Tails event in 1998, and has repeated the event on the Gold Coast every year since, celebrating its 18th annual event this year.

Last year, PAWS Chicago opened their first satellite adoption center on the North Shore at 1616 Deerfield Road in Highland Park to “help find more homes for pets who need them—especially large dogs popular with suburban families—and to bring progressive sheltering practices to a new community of adopters.
