Property Tax Hike Proposed in Lake Forest

City Council expected to vote on an increase of nearly 3 percent next month.

A property tax increase in Lake Forest could come as soon as next year.

The City Council unanimously passed on first reading a resolution to enact a 2.93 percent increase in the real estate levy for 2016, according to the Daily North Shore.

The change would mean the owner of an $800,000 home would pay $91 more in property taxes.
