Road Closure: St. Mary's Road From IL-60 To Everett In Mettawa

METTAWA, IL — St. Mary's Road will be closed next week for one day to repair damage from last month's flooding in Lake County. The closure will take place on Tuesday, Aug. 8 between IL-60 and Everett Road. According to the Lake County Department of Transportation, a drainage tunnel under the road has partially failed due to the heavy rain.

The culvert is scheduled to be replaced and related next year as part of a larger resurfacing project on St. Mary's Road, so transportation officials said the repair will keep it operational until a full replacement can be made next year.

To get around the closure, take IL-60 to Riverwoods Road to Everett Road.
