Route 176 Stretch to Be Closed to Widen Railroad Crossing
Find out what detour you should take starting July 25 to avoid delays

Lake Bluff, IL—A stretch of IL Route 176 between state routes 43 and 131 will be closed starting July 25, according to Lake County's transportation department.
Union Pacific Railroad is temporarily shutting down the road in order to widen the nearby railroad crossing, east of U.S. Route 41. At the same time, the Lake County Division of Transportation also will reconfigure the North Shore Bike Path by creating a new path at the crossing.
During the closure, only local traffic will be allowed through the area. Drivers should use IL Route 43 to IL Route 137 to IL Route 131 as a detour route.
