Mark Kulas Jr. is the 14th Illinois resident to be charged in connection with the riot.
Earlier this month, the first Illinois resident to be convicted of a federal crime related to the Jan. 6 breach of the Capitol was sentenced to 30 days behind bars.
After posting videos on social media that prosecutors said showed him entering the Capitol, Christian Kulas was identified by social media users and fellow Lake Forest High School alumni within days of the riot.
Prosecutors also noted that the Kulas' mother appeared to confirm Christian Kulas took part in the riot in a social media message.
