Shot Fired During Tobacco Store Robbery in Wadsworth

WADSWORTH, IL - A tobacco store in far north suburban Wadsworth was robbed at gunpoint Thursday night and the gunman fired a shot at the clerk during the armed robbery. A Lake County Sheriff's Office investigation found that a man wearing a mask, black hat, dark colored jeans, black shoes and gloves robbed the clerk at the Tobacco Outlet 41474 North Route 41 of an undisclosed amount of cash at 7:05 p.m. that night.

Authorities in Lake County have said that prior to fleeing, the offender ordered the clerk to lay on the ground and fired at shot at the clerk but missed.
