Supreme Court, let us vote!

In late August the Supreme Court of Illinois will rule whether a measure will be on the November ballot that will give Illinois voters an opportunity to end the abuse of gerrymandering of state legislative districts. Instead of the current system of self-serving empire-building politicians drawing district boundaries behind closed doors, the measure will create a non-partisan commission of community leaders and party members that will operate in public view and serve in the interest of fair and competitive elections.

In addition to 564,000 Illinois voters who signed petitions, the measure is supported by a long list of community organizations, current and former and appointed officials, candidates for public office, plus business, civic and community leaders
