In Waukegan, people have a good reason to be freezing.

WAUKEGAN, IL (CBS) — It’s definitely cold enough to want to stay inside this New Year’s Day. But in Waukegan, people have a good reason to be freezing.

Lots of people took the Waukegan Polar Bear Plunge Wednesday morning. For many participants, it wasn’t their first time. One woman said she has participated in this winter tradition 21 times.
