Telegraph Road Closure at Half Day Coming May 8

A major part of the will take place May 8 and close northbound Telegraph Road for two weeks, according to Blanca Vela-Schneider, an administrative assistant for the Village of Bannockburn.

Half Day Road is being widened to two lanes in each direction between Highway 41 and the Tri State Tollway. The work is expected to be complete by the end of August, according to a release issued by the in March.

The intersection of Half Day and Telegraph Roads is scheduled for paving weather permitting May 8 which will slow traffic for people driving between Highway 41 and the Tri State Tollway.

“We don’t know yet whether there will be one lane moving in each direction or it will be one lane at a time,” Vela-Schneider said of the traffic pattern the day of paving.

According to Vela-Schneider, people who wish to go north on Telegraph Road from Half Day Road must travel north on Waukegan Road to Old Mill Road and then west to Telegraph Road until approximately May 22.
