Vista Health System Names New CEO
Jonathan Rozenfeld took over last week as chief executive officer of the Waukegan-based health system.

WAUKEGAN, IL — Vista Health System has named a longtime executive at a Wisconsin hospital as its new chief executive officer.
Jonathan Rozenfeld became CEO of the 228-bed health system, effective Nov. 22, according to an announcement from hospital officials.
“The Vista Health System team is an outstanding group of clinical leaders, physicians, nurses, and staff with a shared goal of continually improving the patient experience and high-quality care,” Rozenfeld said in a statement. “I equally share those goals as I join the team and look forward to becoming a part of the Waukegan and northern Lake County community.”

Rozenfeld was appointed president of St. Mary's Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin, part of SSM Health Care, in 2015, after working there as a vice president and chief executive officer from 2006 to 2012.
In the interim, he was COO of Elk Grove Village-based Alexian Brothers Health System.

Rozenfeld resigned from his role as president of the Wisconsin hospital in late 2019 to move back to Chicago, according to reports from the time.
Eleanor Murkey, chair of Vista's board, said the health system officials were grateful to Stephens, the recently retired former CEO, and Jerry Dooley, who served as interim chief executive.
“We are thrilled to have Jon join Vista Health System and bring with him not only decades of impressive experience but a passion for improving the patient experience and providing high-quality care,” Murkey said.
