Walking or Running: What is the best exercise for you?

It’s Chicago Marathon week around town.  Wow, all those athletes converging on the city to compete in a very popular marathon.  26.2 miles!  You probably know someone who is entered in the race.  They have been training hard all summer and this is the big weekend!  You have probably been in awe as you watched them build their miles and time on the road.  In the back of your mind you may be wondering if you could complete a race of that magnitude.

For some of us the answer comes easily, “there is no way my body could do that”.  Others may ponder the thoughts a little bit longer.  You may think, it’s such a great way to get in shape, right?  It is an awesome accomplishment.  But it may not be for everyone.

Did you know that you can get a really  good workout walking?  YES, WALKING!  So if you are in the category that knows you are not a runner, consider walking.  Ok, not strolling, but brisk walking.
