Project, approved by the Lake Forest City Council, to cost nearly $10 million.

LAKE FOREST, IL - The water plant in Lake Forest will get new filters for the next 20 years after the City Council approved a $10 million project this week.

The city will pay more than $3 million to General Electric Water and Process Technologies to supply the water filters and $563,000 to Strand Associates to design a plan to retrofit the plant to bring in the new filters, according to the Lake Forester.

The new filters will be eight inches shorter than the current ones.
