Woman Hit School Bus with Volvo, Took Off: Police

20-year-old man charged with domestic battery after allegedly striking several at home.

The following information is from the Lake Forest Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

VIOLATION OF BAIL BOND

Shanna H. Powers, 51, 1061 South Ridge Rd. was charged with a violation of bail bond at 8:13 p.m. on January 2 in the 1000 south block of Ridge Road. Police responded to the home for a report of a violation and found Powers in violation of a Judge’s orders.

LEAVING THE SCENE OF AN ACCIDENT

Victoria J. Van Esbroeck, 47, Lake Bluff was charged with leaving the scene of an accident in connection with an incident at 3:20 p.m. on January 12, when officers responded to 250 East Illinois Road to a reported hit-and-run crash in which a Volvo struck a school bus and left the area. On January 15, an officer located the damaged car at a local auto body shop.

DOMESTIC BATTERY

Peter J. Sterna, 20, 1440 West Old Mill Rd. was charged with domestic battery at 5 a.m. on January 16 after police responded to a disturbance at his residence. After speaking to several occupants of the home, officers found that Sterna had struck several occupants, shot one with an airsoft gun and threatened to stab at least one occupant with a knife. He taken into custody and charged with domestic battery, battery, aggravated assault, consumption of alcohol by a minor, possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia.
