Woman Rams Squad Car, Drives Through Wall Of Zion CVS: Police
The 57-year-old Wisconsin resident had been due to begin a jail sentence for a prior DUI conviction Saturday morning.

WAUKEGAN, IL — A Wisconsin woman accused of ramming a squad car and smashing into store Friday night in Zion was ordered held Saturday with bail set at $1 million.
Nina Allen, 57, of Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin, was arrested following an incident at the CVS Pharmacy at the corner of North Green Bay Road and Route 173.
It began around 6:45 p.m. when police were dispatched to a report of a possible drunk driver on Sheridan Road. Zion police pulled over Allen's SUV, but she refused to get out and began revving her engine, according to WLS-TV.

Police told the station Allen then rammed a squad car eight or nine times, drove onto a curb and into the wall of the store, which she rammed twice until breaking through, missing customers and employees.
Images show a Jeep-sized hole in the wall of the store. One of the tow truck drivers who worked to pull the vehicle from the scene told WLS it was lodged into the card aisle about 35 feet into the store.

Firefighters said Allen was taken to the hospital in stable condition and the CVS would be closed until further notice for repairs.
Allen has been charged with four felonies in Lake County: aggravated driving under the influence, aggravated assault to police and two counts of criminal damage of between $500 and $10,000 — to both government-supported and private property. She was also ticketed for failure to obey a yield sign and improper traffic lane usage.

According to Wisconsin court records, Allen had been due to begin a jail sentence of 80 days Saturday in Kenosha County. Last month, she was convicted of operating a vehicle while intoxicated — for the second time and with a passenger under 16. Court records indicate she was a resident of Zion at the time she was charged last April.

A judge Saturday ordered Allen held in lieu of a $100,000 cash portion of her bond. She is due back in Lake County court for a preliminary hearing Feb. 25.
