Investigators were able to solve the crime with the help of new witnesses and telephone records.

After almost 15 years, four men have been charged in the 1999 murder of a Chicago electronics store owner, WGN-TV reported

The suspects, Dimeon Cole, Kevin Mitchell, Menard McAfee and Raymond Winters, allegedly kidnapped 28-year-old Darryl Green from his electronics store at gunpoint and held him in a home on Chicago’s West side.

The suspects called Green’s twin brother and asked for a cash ransom, but they ultimately shot Green to death and dumped his body in Gary, IN. Cole was scheduled to appear in court Monday afternoon, and the other men will appear in connection with the case in the next two weeks.
