The video, recorded at 63rd and South Campbell on the South Side, was posted to Facebook last week.

A Chicago cop’s on-duty nap, caught on video, has been viewed more than 700,000 times on Facebook. And now the police department is investigating the case of the sleepy crimefighter.
“The incident is not in keeping with the high expectations placed on officers,” the department said in a statement.
The video, posted to Facebook on May 15, shows an officer in the front seat of a CPD SUV at the corner of 63rd Street and South Campbell Avenue on Chicago’s South Side. The man who recorded the video, identified as Julian Collins on his Facebook page, walks right up to the open passenger window as he narrates.
