The Cubs have played the Giants once before in the postseason, when San Francisco earned a four games to one victory over the North Siders in the 1989 National League Championship Series behind a stellar offensive performance from Will Clark. The two teams also met in a play-in game in 1998, when the Cubs defeated the Giants at Wrigley Field to earn the league's sole wild card berth.
That series will begin on Friday, Oct. 7 at Wrigley Field for Game One at 8:15 p.m. Game Two is scheduled for Saturday at 7:08 p.m. and Game Three for Monday, Oct. 10 in San Francisco. Game Four, if necessary, will be on Oct. 11 and Game Five, if necessary, on Oct. 13.
