CRLMC Host Annual Thanksgiving Interfaith Observance

Fifteen Different Faiths to Come Together for Prayer and Gratitude in Accordance to Their Individual Culture and Beliefs

The Council of Religious Leaders of Metropolitan Chicago (CRLMC), an organization composed of chief leaders of the Greater Chicago faith communities, has announced today it will host its annual Interfaith Thanksgiving Observance event on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 from 12:00 - 1:00pm. The event will be held at the First United Methodist Church at the Chicago Temple at 77 West Washington Street in Chicago.

“Leaders from different religions come together to authentically pray and give thanks in their own unique faith, including traditional practices and attire,” said Reverend Stan Davis, Executive Director of the CRLMC. Representatives from the Native American, Jewish, Zoroastrian, Christian, Buddhist, Sikh, Catholic, Hindu, Muslim, and Jain communities will offer prayers in honor of Thanksgiving.

The Observance is open to the public and all are invited and encouraged to participate. The event also features music and a program book of each prayer that guests can take home. There is no cost to attend. “In this day where there is so much tension between groups, we stand together to pray and accept one another,” added Davis. “We invite all to join us in giving thanks.”
