BringIt! Conscious Parenting Summit to be Held Pct. 17

Dr. Shefali Tsabary and Jim Dethmer to Keynote Conscious Parenting Summit

On Oct. 17, the Bodhi Spiritual Center, in collaboration with Project Mindfulness is producing BringIt! Conscious Parenting Summit. The program will be held at the Bodhi Spiritual Center at 2746 N. Magnolia Ave. Chicago, from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

This event will empower participants’ parenting skills by offering both big-picture ideas and strategies as well as step-by-step tactics that families can adopt to help them navigate parenthood in a changing world. Attendees will walk away inspired and confident in their ability to “be the parent they want to be.” The summit is designed for adults in all stages of parenting.

The inaugural program kicks off with two internationally recognized keynote speakers:

Dr.Shefali is a clinical psychologist, international speaker, and best-selling author, most notably, of “The Conscious Parent,” a New York Times best-seller highly acclaimed by Oprah. A sought-after media expert, Dr.Shefali has been a guest on Super Soul Sunday, on OWN Life Classes and The Today Show.

Chicago-based Jim Dethmer is co-founder of The Conscious Leadership Group and co-author of The 15 Commitments of Conscious Leadership, an Amazon best-seller. Jim coaches Fortune 200 CEOs, and supports individuals, groups, and organizations to optimize their effectiveness.

After the keynotes, the Summit offers a series of break-out sessions for more in-depth conversations and guidance:

Customize a Discipline Strategy That Works For YOU, presented by Dr. Shefali Tsabary: There is an art to creating discipline strategies that are as unique as each individual family. Find the right balance between acceptance and firm boundaries for toddlers through college-aged children.

Conscious Parenting In A Competitive Culture presented by Jim Dethmer. Many families feel pressured to “keep up with the Joneses.” This program will explore strategies to navigate a competitive culture while honoring each child’s individual nature.

Navigating Your Anger, Anxiety & Stress While Parenting, presented by Annmarie Chereso. If expressed authentically, anger, fear, and sadness can be portals to deeper connection instead of deeper divides. Attendees will learn how to mindfully express and harness the power of feelings to create closer relationships with your children.

Enneagram - Discover Your Family’s Unique Personality Type presented by Debbie Burditt. Yes, even families have personalities. Discover how to identify a family’s type and learn how to use that knowledge to help affect positive change.

Vision Your Family - An Inspired Creation of What Family CAN Be! Presented by Sara Connell and Lola Wright. Visioning is a powerful way to set the intention for what you want from life. How can this be applied to the family? Families are fluid and flexible and can be influenced in ways that serve the greatest intentions of all involved.

Co-Parenting & Collaboration - How Do You Do It?! presented by Michelle Thompson. Participants will learn how to build a collaborative foundation between co-parents. Whether living together or apart, collaboration is the key to peace in parenting.
