Feigenholtz and Cullerton Highlight Services and Resources for Local Seniors at Annual Senior Fair

CHICAGO, Ill. – On Thursday, state Representative Sara Feigenholtz, D-Chicago, and Senate President John Cullerton, D-Chicago joined Weiss Memorial Hospital to host their 3rd Annual Senior Health Fair on Thursday, June 19 at Weiss Memorial Hospital in Chicago’s Uptown neighborhood. Over 150 seniors attended the event and benefited from free screenings and information.

“The lakefront neighborhoods offer local seniors several community resources and healthcare providers,” said Feigenholtz. “Thank you to Weiss Memorial Hospital for partnering with us to help so many local seniors take advantage of the programs and services available to them.”

Weiss Memorial Hospital provided attendees with free medical screenings and classes on managing foot and ankle pain, improving circulation, and diabetic care. Several area businesses and service providers offered healthy living tips, information on wellness programs, and one-on-one consultations with doctors and pharmacists. Additionally, government agencies on site provided free 911 cell phones, shared information on senior fraud prevention, processed applications for reduced fare bus cards, and helped people find unclaimed money and assets through the Illinois ICash program.
