CHICAGO, Ill. – In celebration of the Grand Opening of the Fred and Pamela Buffett Place, state Rep. Sara Feigenholtz, D-Chicago, welcomed the flagship affordable housing facility into the community. The development is the result of a public-private partnership between Brinshore Development, the City of Chicago and Thresholds, Illinois’ largest provider of mental health services.
“Today there are 51 people who now have a fresh start in this incredible supportive housing facility,” Feigenholtz said. “The Fred and Pamela Buffett Place is a prime example of what can be accomplished when community leaders, nonprofits, and government officials strive to provide the very best opportunities and supportive services for persons with mental illnesses or at risk of homelessness.”
The Fred and Pamela Buffett Place is a 51-unit development in Lakeview that delivers brand new, supportive, affordable options to a population in need of housing, health care, employment assistance, and an array of other supportive services. The location is the redeveloped site of the former Diplomat Hotel. Thresholds’ trained staff will provide mental health services, wellness programming, and 24-hour-a-day security.
