Fierce Chinese Lions Get Teeth Knocked Out
Vandal bashed Chinatown lions with a hammer earlier this month.
A pair of symbolic lion statues standing outside a Chinatown museum had their teeth knocked out by a vandal with a hammer. The Imperial Lions, guardians of a family's wealth and well-being, were a gift to the Chinese-American Museum of Chicago, 238 W. 23rd St., last year to celebrate Chinatown's centennial. They were made from a chunk of blue stone in China's Fujian Province, reports Casey Cora at DNAInfo.com. The attack on the lions took place March 2.
