Free Outdoor Jazz At Gallagher Way
Trumpeter Amir El Saffar leads the third installment of The Lineup alongside some of America's best jazz musicians this Sunday in Lake View.
CHICAGO, IL — Gallagher Way is offering more free live music for the public this Sunday, Aug. 19. Trumpeter Amir El Saffar will lead the third installment of The Lineup with a large ensemble of some of America’s best jazz musicians from 6:30-8 p.m.
El Saffar was the winner of this year's DownBeat Rising Star Trumpet Critics Poll, and he brings a wide range of skill and styles to Gallagher Way.
The free program will feature 11 of the most talented jazz musicians from the Chicago and New York areas, including members of El Saffar's acclaimed "Rivers of Sound" ensemble.

People are encouraged to arrive early and bring blankets (space is limited), but no outside alcohol is permitted at Gallagher Way — beverages are available for purchase.
The Lineup is co-curated by Edwin Outwater, Musical Director Laureate of the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony in Ontario, Canada and Tim Higgins, principal trombone of the San Francisco Symphony.
