Kay
Kay is a six-month-old Cattle Dog-Pit Bull Terrier mix who is looking for a compassionate family to call her own. When she arrived at PAWS Chicago, she was very fearful and unsure of her surroundings. She was placed in a loving foster home who helped ease her out of her shell and become socialized. Kay received high marks from her foster parents. Within two days, she was romping around the snowy backyard with her foster’s three resident dogs. Kay has flourished into a social and loveable dog who enjoys being petted. Her favorite activities are wrestling with other dogs, cuddling with her foster mom, and working for treats. As a typical puppy, she can be rambunctious and is therefore looking for an adults only home, or one with children 10 years and older. Obedience training would be a great way to continue her confidence-building and bond with her new guardians.

Elvis is a four-year-old male cat who is sure to make you swoon! This handsome guy came to PAWS Chicago in February through the Trap-Neuter-Return program. In an effort to humanely reduce the number of feral cats in Chicago, Elvis and some other neighborhood kitties were trapped and brought in to be neutered. Elvis’s rescuers quickly realized that he was not feral, in fact, he was one of the friendliest cats they’d ever met. With his excellent litter box and scratching post habits, Elvis has obviously spent time in a home before. He is currently spending some time in a foster home, where he’s proven to be an amazing companion and houseguest! He likes being petted and held, but isn’t too needy. He’s earned a reputation in his foster home as ”The King Of Snuggling”! Elvis’s favorite things in the whole world are turkey-flavored cat treats and when he’s looking for attention, he likes to serenade his foster family with sweet little meows. If you’re looking for a super friendly, dog-like cat, this is the guy for you.
