Lake View Residents Don't Want A Rehab Facility In Their Neighborhood
Rockford-based company wants to convert building into transitional living center for addicts undergoing treatment.

Lake View residents are at odds with a proposed plan to put an a drug rehabilitation center at Ashland and Waveland Center.
Rockford-based Rosecrance is requesting a special use permit to turn an existing building into offices and transitional living facility, WGN-TV News reported.
Chris Yadron, director of Chicago Recovery Services for Rosecrance, says he understands the stigma about substance abuse and people in need of care.

“We have a good reputation, we care deeply about the clients that we serve, about the safety of those clients and the safety of our staff, and really the safety of the neighborhood,” Yadron told WGN-TV. “So in that regard, we are really hoping this is a positive contribution.”
Clients would be rigorously screened for sex and violent crimes. Rosecrance operates a similar treatment facility in Lincoln Park.
