Monroe, is proud to offer a four-course Valentine’s Day prix fixe menu Friday, Feb. 13 and Saturday, Feb. 14 from 5 – 11 p.m. The prix fixe menu is available at $68 per person. Discounted parking is available at 55 East Monroe, Self Park garage, $5 for three hours with validation. Receive parking validation at Lockwood Restaurant & Bar’s host stand. For almost 150 years, the Palmer House has been a living symbol of romance with its very existence inspired by love as the grand Hotel was a gift of business magnate Potter Palmer to his beloved wife Bertha, a legendary socialite, arts patron and philanthropist. The historic lobby rouses feelings of love for any one who views it. From the 24-karat gold Tiffany chandeliers to the magnificent ceiling of Grecian frescoes by French muralist Louis Pierre Rigal, which has been restored to its original grandeur. The 21 paintings that span the enormous two-story lobby depicts images of classic romance including the birth of Venus, Apollo in pursuit of Daphne and Pluto on his quest to marry Persephone, the daughter of the Demeter, the goddess of the harvest. Lockwood Restaurant & Bar continues this legacy of love with its Valentine-inspired menu.

Lockwood Restaurant & Bar Four-Course Valentine’s Prix Fixe Menu includes:

First Course
-Seared sea scallop with buttered leek, white chocolate beurre blanc, verjus poached and golden raisin
-Roasted beet and carrot soup with cocoanut air and ginger meringue
-Beef carpaccio with egg yolk “butter,” olive, parmesan crema and pickle
-Tuscan kale salad with compressed kale, shaved radish, Lombardo pepper, Meyer lemon and shaved pecorino cheese

Second Course
­-Array of chilled seafood comprised of prawn, king crab, lobster, oyster, mussel and octopus served with fresh cocktail sauce, mustard crème and cucumber mignonette

Third Course
-Beef sirloin with caramelized shallot, crispy potato, carrot caramel and parsley root puree. Choice of Kobe beef sirloin available as a $20 supplement
-Filet of sable fish with octopus carpaccio, snug haven spinach and sofrito
-Vadouvan spice roasted cauliflower with toasted amaranth, raisins, fine herb and puffed apricots
-Roasted mushroom Bolognese with cavatelli pasta, San Marzano tomato, ricotta dumpling and black truffle

Fourth Course
-Pave of chocolate for two with assortment of puree’s, flavorings and garnishes for the table
-Warm Grand Marnier soufflé with vanilla bean anglaise and Meyer lemon sorbet
-Bertha’s brownie chocolate bar with blood orange curd, feuillentine walnut crunch and honey sorbet.
