Magik St. Tavern, a new bar concept opening in Lacuna Artist Lofts in Pilsen has launched a video on crowdfunding site Kickstarter as a way to educate and involve the community in the restaurant prior to their March 2015 opening.

The bar will feature food, cocktails and reclaimed décor including the original Magikist sign. The iconic sign, which was the inspiration behind the concept, will play a central role in the design of the space.

Executive Chef Nathan Whittaker (Kinmont/Nightwood) will serve up a small menu of tacos (both traditional and regional varieties) as well as homemade salsas, dips and small bar snacks. Whittaker, who spent two summers growing organic vegetables at Chicago’s City Farm, is committed to sourcing fresh, quality produce.
