Neal, Gerber & Eisenberg Adds Tax Partner Jeff Shamberg

Neal, Gerber & Eisenberg LLP is pleased to announce the addition of Jeffrey S. Shamberg as a partner in the firm’s Taxation practice group. Shamberg brings nearly two decades of experience serving clients in a range of international, federal, and state and local tax planning and controversy matters. Shamberg was previously with Barack Ferrazzano Kirschbaum & Nagelberg LLP. His arrival to Neal Gerber Eisenberg follows that of Ronald Betman, who recently joined the firm’s General & Commercial Litigation practice as a partner.

Shamberg focuses his practice on advising real estate investment trusts (REITs), partnerships, corporations and individuals regarding complex tax issues arising in connection with business formations and reorganizations, mergers and acquisitions, equity offerings, dispositions, joint ventures, loan transactions and work-outs. He also represents business entities and individuals in tax controversy matters before the Internal Revenue Service and the Illinois Department of Revenue.

Shamberg earned his law degree from Northwestern University School of Law, and his bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is also a certified public accountant.
