New Cameras To Be Installed In Lake View, Buena Park: Map
Nine new cameras are going up in the 46th Ward to help identify suspects in crimes, the city said.
CHICAGO, IL — The city's Office of Emergency Management and Communications is installing nine new cameras in the 46th Ward, the city said. In his newsletter, Ald. James Cappleman said the cameras are permanent and will provide additional video coverage on the public right-of-way.
"While cameras don't necessarily reduce crime, they have been used successfully to help identify perpetrators so that arrests can be made and criminals taken off the streets," the 46th Ward newsletter stated.
