Police Warn Of Lincoln Park Car Thefts

Police are warning residents to be vigilant and report anything suspicious.

CHICAGO, IL — Police have issued a community alert with a list of the times and locations of the latest vehicle thefts on Chicago's North Side. In each theft, suspects are breaking the car's windows and taking property from inside, police said. According to the alert, targeted items include laptops, purses, wallets and tools.

Police said the thefts happened in Lakeview and Lincoln Park in the following locations:

  • 1000 Block of West Belmont on March 12 at 9:30 p.m.
  • 2700 Block of North Lake Shore from March 16 to March 18.
  • 600 Block of West Diversey on March 19 between 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
  • 2800 Block of North Lake Shore on March 21 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
  • 2800 Block of North Clark on March 26 from 8:45 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
  • 2600 Block of North Lincoln from March 28 to March 29, 2018
  • 2400 Block of North Cannon on March 29 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
  • 2500 Block of North Clark on March 31 from 10:00 a.m. to 10:15 a.m.
  • 2400 Block of North Orchard on April 3 from 10:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
  • 500 Block of West Oakdale on April 6 from 1:30 a.m. to 3:30 a.m.
