Public Vote Names 6-Month-Old Dolphin at Shedd Aquarium

The aquarium gave voters two names, Makoa and Kolohe, to choose from.

The votes have been counted and the results are in for the election everyone’s been waiting for.

After two weeks of voting, the 6-month-old dolphin calf at Shedd Aquarium has been named Makoa.

Makoa, which means “fearless” in Hawaiian, beat out Kolohe, which means ”rascal.” The Pacific-white-sided dolphin calf was born July 1 and is now almost 5-feet-long and weighs around 108 pounds.
