'Star Wars' Poorly Explained from Memory

In a galaxy far, far away, there's lots of "may-ham." And a big lava pit. And R3CO gets burned. Chicago TOTALLY deserves the Lucas Museum.

Our friends at the Tribune recently asked random Chicagoans on the street to explain “Star Wars,” the 1977 George Lucas movie which turned Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Princess Leia and R2D2 into cultural icons and set the stage for a series of films described as an epic space opera. The film, of course, spawned billions of dollars of merchandise, too. Now, George Lucas wants to put a modern museum, the Lucas Museum, on Chicago’s lakefront.

The Lucas Museum would be a place to study narrative art and moving pictures. Knowledge of ”Star Wars” would not be required.
