Watch Golf Ball Sized Hail Pound Lake Michigan

Quiet Sunday afternoon interrupted by an intense thunderstorm that wreaked havoc on the city's Far North Side.

A Rogers Park resident watched Sunday’s storm ”come out of nowhere” as it raced through Chicago, sending golf ball sized hail pounding into Lake Michigan north of the Loyola University campus.

The Far North Side lakefront and Evanston took the worst of the microcell thunderstorm’s punch, uprooting entire trees and snapping tree limbs in Edgewater and Rogers Park.
