The estimated $150 million project aims to reduce traffic congestion and improve safety along Old McHenry Road in the Hawthorn Woods, Lake Zurich and Kildeer area, where nearly 30,000 vehicles travel daily.
Planned improvements include an underpass beneath the railroad tracks, intersection upgrades at Fairfield and Midlothian roads, additional lanes along Quentin Road and new pedestrian and bicycle connections.
