• Affordable housing apartment plan near Lake Zurich recommended for approval (dailyherald.com) — A 24‑unit affordable workforce housing project near Lake Zurich at the former Midlothian Manor site has won unanimous support from the Lake County Zoning Board of Appeals. The plan, which could connect to Lake Zurich’s water and sewer systems, now heads to county committees and the full board, with neighbors weighing in on buffering, lighting, and neighborhood impacts.    

• Girls soccer: Lake Forest survives Lake Zurich, nets 2A sectional title on a PK (dailyherald.com) — Lake Zurich’s girls soccer team fell 1-0 to Lake Forest in Friday’s Class 2A sectional final played at Lake Zurich, ending a strong postseason run that included upsetting top-seeded Libertyville. The Bears created several dangerous chances but conceded on a second-half penalty kick, while Lake Forest now advances to Monday’s supersectional, also set for Lake Zurich.
