CMS created the Five-Star Quality Rating to assist consumers, their families and caregivers in comparing nursing and rehabilitative facilities. This rating system gives each facility a rating between 1 and 5 stars. Facilities with 5 stars, such as Lexington Health Care Center of Lake ZUrich, are considered to be well above the average quality. The Five-Star Quality Rating is based on gathering the following data from facilities:
- Health Inspections
- Staffing
- Quality Measures
The combined star rating of each of the above sources are combined to calculate an overall rating.
