Cultural Activities, Village Board Meeting This Week

Here's a look at some events coming up this week.

• The  will meet tonight at 7. Items on the agenda include: consideration of a text amendment and special use permit to allow boarding, day care, massage therapy and grooming service for pets at OakView Pet Resort; possible approval of the hiring of a consultant for Phase II of the Canadian National  project; and consideration of a special use permit to allow massage therapy services at a facility at 890A S. Rand Road.

•  will hold a band concert from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. March 7.

• The  will host a "Bollywood & Henna Design" program from 2 to 5 p.m. March 10. Singers from Swar Vihar will perform at 2 p.m. After the performance, guests can receive authentic henna tattoos from local Hindi artists. Registration is not required for this event.

• The Japanese Culture Institute will hold a presentation about Aikido, Iaido and Shodo at the . The event will be at 1 p.m. March 11.

• The College of Lake County’s Wind Ensemble will hold a concert at 4 p.m. March 11 in the Mainstage Theatre of the James Lumber Center for the Performing Arts. General admission tickets are $5; tickets for CLC staff and students/Alumni Association members are $4.
