Hundreds Participate In Annual Triathlon At Paulus Park

More than 428 athletes competed in the event.

More than 428 athletes participated in the annual triathlon Sunday in Paulus Park.

The athletes included seven relay teams that each consisted of three members.

The triathlon was hosted by 321 Go!. Athletes competed in Olympic-distance events, including 1.5K swim, a 40K bike race and a 10K run, said Kevin Harley, spokesman for 321 Go! Event Promotions. He added that a portion of the proceeds from the event will be donated to Lake Zurich Community Unit District 95.

The top 10 individuals in the triathlon were: Vachee Loughran, Mark Wachendorf, Matthew Thibodeau, Daniel Dziubski, Marc Legras, John Morrison, Dan Turney, Tom Weber, Mary Bradbury and Brian Wakefield.
