Update: Tom Poynton Wins Village President: 2013 Election Results

There were three openings on the Lake Zurich village board for four-year trustee terms and one opening for a two-year term. Below is the list of candidates who ran. All candidates were sent questionnaires. Click on the names of those who returned the questionnaires to read their full profile.

Slates: 

The slate, the United Lake Zurich Party, included current Village President Suzanne Branding, current Village Clerk Kathleen Johnson and four-year trustee candidates Helmut Gerlach, Todd Minden and Ildiko Schultz. Debra Vander Weit is running with the slate for the two-year term.

Current Trustee Tom Poynton challenged Branding for Village President as an independent. He supported incumbent Jeff Halen, newcomers Geoffrey Petzel and Daniel Stanovich, running for four-year terms; and Mark Loewes, running for the two-year term. Poynton also supported Jim Beaudoin, who is running as an independent for a four-year term.
