Retirement Community, Tree-Trimming Contract on Tonight's Agenda

The Lake Zurich Village Board will hold its regular meeting at 7 p.m.

Consideration of Spectrum Retirement Communities LLC's special use permit for senior housing is on the agenda for tonight's meeting, along with a number of other issues.

The board will hold its regular meeting at 7 p.m. at Village Hall.

Here's a look at what to expect at tonight's meeting:

  • Spectrum Retirement Communities LLC is "seeking a special use permit for senior housing, relief from certain zoning requirements for a planned unit development, approval of the site plans and exterior appearance and a modification to the Lake Zurich Land Development Code," as stated in the agenda for tonight's meeting. . Those residents have said the size of the development would be too large and that the building won't fit in with the single-family residential area.
  • The board is set to vote on the 2011-12 tree-trimming and removal contract bid award, with an amount not to exceed $30,000. The lowest bidder was Trees 'R' Us.
  • Village Administrator Bob Vitas plans to update the board on a meeting that was to take place Oct. 14 between Lake Zurich and Kildeer officials, along with representatives from the Illinois Department of Transportation and Woodman's Markets. . Lake Zurich would share in the store's sales tax revenues due to a recently amended annexation agreement between Lake Zurich and Kildeer. At the Oct. 14 meeting, officials from all parties were to discuss Woodman's proposal to add a signalized intersection on Rand Road. IDOT hasn't yet granted that intersection because the intersection would be within a quarter mile of another intersection, which violates IDOT's guidelines.
